September Joy
Last week we had a great week with singer, Thomas Dickerson. He sang and shared his testimony at the Evangelical University of San Salvador about 10 times with 130 students raising their hands to pray to receive Christ as their Savior. They have all started in Bible study groups and new believer classes. How wonderful that we can follow up and disciple our new family in Christ. Also, Thomas shared with a group of doctors on Saturday morning and 4 were saved. We went to Chinameca Sunday and 8 people came forward to receive Christ during the invitation. It was an awesome week. God is using Thomas in a mighty way as he sings, preaches and relates to people. You can learn more about him at www.callingallthenations.com
Special thanks to Ryan Hudson of Purvis, Mississippi. He spent a few weeks with us this summer and went home stirred to help the children at Remar Orphanage. He filled a container with goods and shipped it to El Salvador. When the container was released from customs he and his dad, Wendall, flew here and distributed the much needed goods: clothes, shoes, baby beds, diapers and so much more. Thanks, Ryan and Wendall, for being sensitive to the Holy Spirit and for your generosity.
Day of the Child is a big day of celebration in El Salvador. We took pinatas, snacks, and stuffed animals with witness-wear bracelets to the children in Hospital Zacamil. We used the bracelets to share the gospel. All of the mothers and sick children gathered under a large tent and we shared the love of Christ. They were very receptive and some prayed to receive Christ as their Savior. We also had a presentation by the "Healthy Tooth" as he sang and danced about nutrition. Then after a time of fun with the pinatas and refreshments, we went into the hospital to share and pray with the mothers of the sick children that were unable to come outside for the party. It was a wonderful day.
We know that more stories from this week to come. We cannot wait to see the ripples of effect from the 130 who were saved and are being discipled!
